Polish Cowboy Race project

Polish Cowboy Race is a set of western-style riding classes designed to showcase the rider’s agility and the horse’s skill across all possible movements found in western riding. These events may include elements from calf roping, pole bending, barrel racing, reining, western horsemanship, trail and more. This format gives versatile horses a chance to shine - those capable of executing fast and precise patterns under the guidance of skilled and effective riders. What adds excitement to Polish Cowboy Race competitions is that they are timed competitions, making them both dynamic and thrilling to watch.

The Polish Cowboy Race project has been running since 2015, created thanks to a group of western-riding enthusiasts from Lower Silesia, Poland.

The first Polish Cowboy Race rulebook was established between 2014 and 2015 by a team consisting of: Magdalena Zeprzałka, Ireneusz Grobelny, Jacek Grobelny, Zbigniew Pośpiech, Ireneusz Sidorowicz, Krzysztof Strynkowski, and Bartosz Wysocki, with the support of Aleksandra Misztak and Beata Baca.

After each season, the rules were refined and updated. For eight years, PCR operated within the structure of the Polish Western and Rodeo League, and since 2023, it has been based on the Polish Cowboy Race Foundation.

The PCR Foundation was officially registered in the National Court Register (KRS) on April 11, 2023. Its mission is to promote and develop western equestrian sports, especially Polish Cowboy Race competitions, by creating opportunities for recreational and competitive events.
The President of the PCR Foundation is Jacek Grobelny, and Piotr Zarzycki serves as a board member.
